Welcome to
The Buechner Review [‘25-‘26]
An annual publication, delivered in monthly installments, dedicated to the life, work, themes, and theology of Revd Frederick Buechner.
On behalf of the Frederick Buechner Center, I am delighted to introduce the third edition of The Buechner Review, 2025-26.
Scrolling down, long-time readers of the Review will notice a slight difference between this edition, and our first and second. In addition to our monthly contributors — a wonderful mixture of Biblical scholars and preachers, poets and novelists, thinkers and academics — you will notice three individuals named as ‘Winners of the Frederick Buechner Writing Prize’ at various higher education institutions.
The Buechner Review is proud to partner with seminaries, colleges, and universities across the world, supporting excellent students through the hosting of Frederick Buechner Writing competitions, designed to further the kind of writing that our namesake loved. This year, our editorial board has selected three excellent pieces from our participating partners, and we are pleased to feature them alongside our other contributors.
As ever, this year’s “Friends of Buechner” have been chosen to reflect the broad interests, deep values, and cross-cultural, cross-genre, cross-medium reach of Revd Frederick Buechner.
Look out for a new article on the second Tuesday of each month, posted here on our website, and shared across our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. If you would prefer to have each article sent to your email, you can sign up here.
Happy reading.
